About
What is Hybridge Academy?
Hybridge Academy is a non-traditional middle and high school located in Tucker, GA. We strive to provide quality education to students who do their best work outside of the constraints of a traditional classroom. Teachers will engage with each student individually, meeting them where they are and prioritizing full understanding over acing a test.
What is hybrid education?
We follow a homeschool hybrid model, meaning students are expected to learn both in class, and at home - classes meet once a week for 60 or 90 minutes, and the student can take as few or as many classes as they would like. Our academic schedule accounts for in-person meetings, and independent study weeks, where students work on assigned projects for their classes.
What about accreditation?
Hybridge Academy is thrilled to be accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC) as a Non-Traditional Learning Center for grades 9-12. This means that students who enroll with us for at least one full year of high school, and complete all courses required by the state, are eligible to receive an accredited high school diploma - the same kind they would get at a public school. High school students can choose to take an accredited route, as described above, or a homeschool route, where they take classes that interest them and earn a non-accredited homeschool diploma at the end of their time in high school.
Classes for middle school students are not accredited by the GAC, and serve as a supplement or replacement for parent-led homeschool learning.
How much does it cost?
Finances at Hybridge Academy are broken into two parts - fees and tuition. There are a handful of fees during the application and registration process that total $375 for the first semester and $310 every semester thereafter. This money is used for insurance, renting space, providing students with use of the Jupiter program, and more.
Tuition is paid directly to instructors, either in one payment at the beginning of a semester or on a monthly basis. Our rate for core classes (Math, Science, Social Studies/History, and English/Language Arts) is $445/semester per class, and our rate for elective classes and supplemental courses (Computer Programming, Improv, STEM Lab, etc) is $385/semester per class.Â
Can a student take just one or two classes?
Yes! We want students to engage with what interests them - whether it means they take all their courses at Hybridge, spread their classes between different organizations, or primarily homeschool and take a Hybridge course just for fun.
If a student is looking to graduate with an accredited degree, there are guides to the classes they will need in the Course Offerings page of this site. If a student is looking to graduate with a homeschool degree, they can sign up for as many or as few classes as desired.
